What are the benefits of Aloe Vera Juice if you put it in your horses grain as a supplement?
Posted in Aloe Vera by admin
I have a 10 year old thoroughbred gelding that is very high strung. And I heard that Aloe Vera Juice is a good thing to put in horses grain that are like that. (He is an ex-race horse and is prone to ulcers.)
So what are the benefits of putting Aloe Vera Juice in your horses grain as a supplement?
How much Aloe Vera Juice should I put in his grain every morning?
Thank you for answering!!!! =]

Aloe vera is primarily a laxative when used internally. Also, it is incredibly bitter. Externally it's soothing to the skin and good for cuts and burns, though it shouldn't replace cleaning the wound and applying ointment if needed. (It might help ulcers, since it is soothing to mucous membranes along with the laxative effect.)
I wouldn't give your horse any supplements "just because". As long as you're feeding a good quality hay and feed and your horse has no major issues, that should be all he needs.
